We are a team of dedicated people who have started restoring Omega watches in 2003. It has always been a passion and not a business. The inspiration was magnificent engineering, the amazing history behind Omega and the love of bringing all this history back to life again.

Every watch I bought had the first owner, who acquired the pristine watch some time ago. Some of them were cherished and passed on their valuable pieces to their children, and relatives or even donated to a good cause. There was always a history behind every watch, a birthday present, an acknowledgement of long service, a token of love or simply a long time saving that culminated in the possession of the watch of someone’s dreams.

My Omega journey started when I was studying in Switzerland in my early twenties. I always wanted to buy a worthy watch for my father. He has been my true inspiration and constant support throughout my adolescence. I wanted something special. Omega brand has been renowned for years and has been mentioned to me a few times. So, my first step was walking through the door of the watch boutique. I started a conversation with the salesman, who highly recommended Omega. He advised me to stay away from Rolexes as in his view, these were well overpriced and fashionable but not as reliable as Omega. I loved the way Omega looked and was determined to get one until I heard the price… Well, I was not able to afford one with my student part-time income then. In the end, I bought a Tissot model with the promise to myself that one day I will rectify this situation and get a proper Omega for my father. He was very pleased with it.

Sadly, I never managed to fulfil my wish, as my father passed away a short time later. I was not able to fulfil my promise but I decided to at least get one for my husband for his special birthday. It was the Seamaster cal. 565 from 1968 in fantastic condition. He was over the moon. This is how our love of Omega watches started. We have also realised that other people might be in the same situation, not being able to afford to buy Omega watches. Furthermore, we have decided in our spare time to try to grow all our expertise and knowledge of Omega watches and build a team of professional people capable of restoration to the highest class. This is how everything started…

We can provide an evaluation of all mechanical Omega watches produced from 1945 to 1985. We specialise in this Omega period.

We are happy to provide the best price we can offer for your Omega watch. Please email us for the details: webuyomega@yahoo.com

Here is a small selection of the watches we restored in the past. We don't enhance pictures so you can see the real watches with all the blemishes and imperfections. The photos are at great magnification and even tiny marks are visible - you will not be able to see those with the naked eye. You will be able to see the specks of dust even though we try our best to wipe these off. These pieces don’t just tell the time – they tell the story. We always hope these watches get the treatment of being used daily as they deserve.

We brought these Omega watches back to nearly the same condition as they were when new and it feels like moving back in time. This is just a hobby that I had for years. Now, even my teenage son has engaged and has helped with this HTML and the layout of this website - they say that once the father had Omega his son will not go for anything else but also Omega. The timeless piece!

I am proud of how all these watches have been transformed back to their nearly original state - we spend a lot of time making sure every detail is as close to the original as possible. We only use the original Omega watch parts for the replacements. Sometimes we have to wait for a long time before we find replacement parts at a reasonable price.

You can search the Omega website and you will find the same models in the vintage watches section. a lot of them will even have pictures remarkably similar to the ones you see here.

Jeremy Clarkson once said that you don't really need five cars or five watches - on this occasion we tend to disagree. On watches, not cars. I have more than five watches and you can wear them on different occasions - unlike cars. No opinion on ownership of five cars - still working on it.

Please do contact us if you need any information. We will do our best to come back to you as quickly as possible.

I bought a nice camera not long ago (photography is my new passion) and I am doing my best to catch detailed pictures from all angles. These pictures are not taken by professional photographers!

Let us tell you a bit about the service we always give to every watch - the movement is taken apart completely to the last little screws and tiny parts. The performance of the movement will deteriorate over time if not cared for properly. The lubricants will dry up and lose their cohesiveness in time. All the parts are cleaned in a special chemical solution that dissolves old lubricants, grime, dust or residue that is still left within the case and movement. This process normally takes just over 24 hours. After that, each little part is checked again for any blemishes and faults that can result in the movement not working at 100% correctly. If there are any parts to be replaced this is the time to identify that need. Once all the parts are checked, replaced and rechecked the process of reassembling can begin. There are different lubricants for the different parts so special care needs to be taken. It does take a while... Once everything is back together the electronic instruments are used to set the timing of the movement to be perfect.

The movement after service or any parts being replaced needs the bedding in time of couple weeks and readjustment on the timing instrument. You can see that this is not something you can do yourself in five minutes. This specialist care is extremely important and this is what we do with every Omega watch we own. A lot of watches are advertised as waterproof or water resistant. As part of the service, we do replace all the gaskets and all the care is taken to make the watches resistant to water. The truth is that in the old watches it is nearly impossible to achieve the 100% result. So, do not take a bath or shower wearing your old watch. There is always a risk that something can go wrong and the damage caused by water is the hardest to repair. This is why we never say our watches are waterproof. Please treat them as if they are not if you want the timeless Omega.

Please note, we offer 3 month warranty on every watch we restore. we will also isse a certificate of authenticity and a service record.

These watches have been worn proudly in the past. It shows what sort of amazing engineering has gone into them if they can survive in a workable state for so long. The truth is you need to service your watch at least every five to eight years to make sure you prolong its life. We have a watchmaker that had been helping us with restoration for the past 20 years and he has been working with Omega watches for the past 50 years - you can't get any more knowledge than that. He has now retired and helps only us while enjoying his retirement. He is not pushed to deliver to the deadlines and he takes his time to make it perfect. This is why we are not selling many watches - we wait until they are ready. Good things take time and we pride ourselves in getting them perfect. We never thought about selling our watches in the past but in time we realised that we actually can keep several and at the same time share the models that we have already with others.

We use eBay and Chrono24 to sell. Please have a look there at our past feedback, look at prices we have sold in the past and compare to the average ones of the same watches sell for. You will see that the intention is not to make a huge profit. But it does help a bit if we make a pound or two on it:). At least we think we have done something worthwhile.

We donate to Cancer Research every time we make a profit.
